What do you need to know before serving on a nonprofit board?
How do you get involved?
From the Polio vaccine to the 9-1-1 emergency system to those white lines on the highway, nonprofits throughout history touch the lives of every American.
There are more than 2,400 nonprofits in Orange County. Each and every one of these nonprofits require board leadership to change and strengthen our communities. Board members play a vital role.
This is also an opportunity for individuals to connect with community needs and further develop their own leadership perspectives. Board Connection is an opportunity for volunteers to be trained in becoming a board member and matched with a local nonprofit organization.
Prospective Board Members: Join us for the informational session on becoming a board member. Volunteer Center matches individuals who would like to be placed on board with a nonprofit in need of board members. Refresher for Board Members: Send your current board members for a refresher session on what's new in board management. Understand the roles and responsibilities of boards. Reframe the boards' efforts, from rubber stamping to action oriented. Come share your experience and insights with us and to take back to your board.
